Multi-Purpose Sports Facility
A multi-purpose sports hall located within Gradski Park (City Park) in Skopje. The design sits lightly within the park landscape, featuring a translucent slatted facade that allows visual connection between the surrounding trees and the activity within. The facility houses a full-size basketball and handball court with retractable seating for up to 2,700 spectators, along with support spaces, changing rooms, and administrative facilities.
Design Concept
The building is conceived as a transparent pavilion in the park — its slatted facade dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the greenery to visually penetrate the building envelope. The roof structure spans the full court width without intermediate columns, creating an unobstructed interior volume. The red seating and court markings provide a bold color accent against the neutral palette of the structure. The building footprint is kept compact to minimize its impact on the park landscape.
