FFOSZ Faculty Building
Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Health
A contemporary faculty building for the Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Health (FFOSZ) at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. Designed as a companion to the adjacent FINKI building, it shares a similar material vocabulary of timber louvers and glass while establishing its own distinct architectural character. The building accommodates specialized sports education facilities within a warm, inviting institutional environment.
Design Concept
The design creates a dialogue with the neighboring FINKI building through shared materiality while differentiating itself through massing and facade articulation. The timber-louver system is adapted to the specific orientation and programmatic needs of a sports education facility, with larger openings for gymnasium spaces and more controlled light for theoretical classrooms. The ground level is treated as an extension of the campus landscape.
